Ashwood is a family saga exploring the meaning of life and the price of fame in a tragic blend of love and mystery centered around Cassandra (Cassy) Crow, a teenage runaway who, at fifteen, escapes her troubled past to eventually become a renowned artist known for her distinctive oil paintings, and is believed to be the final victim in a series of murders.

The story unfolds during a Christmas Day family gathering, where her extraordinary life is pieced together through the memories of her husband, Aaron Ashwood, left totally paralyzed by a massive stroke, and the conversations among their children and grandchildren. Birdie, a precocious and spirited twelve-year-old granddaughter, embarks on a determined quest to uncover the truth behind her grandmother’s mysterious death.
